Can anyone recommend a cheap budget holiday for a single mum and 5 year old boy?
sam_l_miller asked:
I’m a single mum of a 5 year old boy on a very tight budget. I would like to take my son on holiday at the end of August but everything seems so expensive. Surley in the era of budget airlines and package holidays there must be something I can afford. I seem to be facing a price for 2 adults even thought he’s only 5!! And I cant find a free child place where I’m only paying for me. Any suggestions?
Ideally I dont want to straetch more than £500 for the both of us for a week, I’m going to have to find spends on top af that!!

waht’s your budget?
try the
they paid for a holiday for me my 3 kids a couple of years ago (but yor child may have to have special needs, but not sure)
worth a try
good luck
great yarmouth
Bulgaria would be nice, they love kids over there. But if the wee boy’s only five, you don’t have to spend a lot. Just having his mum all to himself for a while will be a good hoilday for him.
When I was hard up I used to take my son Youth Hostelling. Not only is it affordable but you meet really nice people. or .uk in the norhtern part of the UK
Do you drive? If so then I can recommend Eurocamp, they do great deals for families and I think they may do a deal for single parents.
They are wonderful for children, there are games, clubs, activities for them to join in and they make loads of friends. Breaks ice for you too.
There is also Gingerbread Group for lone parent families.
Here are the web sites for you.
I hope you find something and have a lovely holiday with your son.
Aurora. xx
camping..anywhere. lots of places are inexpensive.
beach or lake visit. depending on your location.
check out historical sites that are local within a few hours drive.
What hobbies do you both like that maybe have been set aside for another day that maybe you could do at home for a few days.
maybe getting involved with a volunteer orginazation that does a little traveling.
Kids that age love amusement park type places in california there is leggo land and if your near florida you can get free tickets to disneyland by sitting through a time share prentation.
Have you tried pontins / butlins / haven/ park resorts! great family holidays – no need to go abroad where its normally too hot – too expensive and all you have is the pool or beach.
I have a very small budget and 2 children 5 and 7 now and i have managed to take them to one of these resorts twice every year so far and theyre much better than the one holiday i did take them on abroad to Greece 2 years ago (paid as 3 adults) which cost 4 times the amount!
Theres so many activities and fun things to do for all ages – even yourself! Theres entertainment day and night and you can even go to the club house – meet other adults ( poss make friends!) have a few beers if you wish and relax watching shows while he plays! Its great cheap fun! Pontins is the cheapest by far but the others are good too.
He will be just as happy if not more than if ya went abroad and spent a lot of money – plus its not as daunting as going to a foreign country on your own.
Good luck and enjoy!
Where would you want to travel to and where are you coming from? I believe you can find a travel agency that doesn’t turn 5 year olds to adults price wise. Patience is what you need to find them. Your son is 5 years old already. They will charge him.
you should try
it will work
