Actually, they’re close enough that, if you can afford the extra flight, I’d recommend you do both.

If you can afford it both, if not, I’d personally go for London, England.

Do Australia at Xmas..as it’s warmer .. and then plan a holiday to the UK for when we have our summer (well at least when we’re meant to have it lol!!)
Only thing is.. prices will be higher at these two times, due to weather and popularity at these times of year.
SO if you want to save money and weather isn’t an issue, i suggest you do it the other way round.
Germany and Switzerland are beautiful places to visit at Christmas time. If you want to see snow.. the don’t go to Australia. Even in London or anywhere in the UK, nowadays, with global warming you might not even get snow! However.. you have to decide ..do you want to waken up on Christmas morning to a hazy wintery (maybe snowy day) or wake up on a sunny morning and then go to the beach!!
Either way, have a lovely holiday and safe travels.
PS Prague is also beautiful
PPS if you are in the West Coast of America..eg LA..you could always do a round the world trip..go via one place and back via the other..with some stops in between!

Firstly…for whomever said Sydney is near London…you need to read an atlas. Sydney is on the other side of the world. Secondly…in Sydney in December it is summer…so in my opinion that would be a better option than London in winter. Besides…Aussies rock!!!

You want to go to Europe, but can’t decide between London and Sydney? At the risk of seeming controversial, may I suggest some other well known ‘European’ destinations: Baghdad, Delhi, Peru (All these are lovely in the spring); Morocco, Egypt, Cuba (Better in winter).
Alternatively, try a brief trip to your local library, preferably the reference section, including perhaps a small detour to any aisle marked Geography
And they say education is lagging behind in America.

If you think that Australia is in Europe , you’re in for a rude awakening ….

why dont you make up your mind first and decide which continent you would like to go, then learn that australia is NOT in europe
