I would go to Cappadocia in Turkey and have a real winter break! Not only is there stunning scenary and the chance of a hot air balloon ride at sunset on Christmas morning over the most amazing scenery (very very romantic), the people are friendly and the food great! You might even get the chance to go skiing in a wonderfully underdeveloped place where you are not surrounded by hoards of tourists and pain in the neck kids!
Alternatively, if you want sun, perhaps head to Egypt and do some snorkelling and diving in the Red Sea or go on a nile cruise – the weather would be great for seeing the pyramids etc. at that time of year – nice but no unbearably hot!
Personally i wouldnt come to the UK for xmas, and for
Miami,FL, Ft. Lauderdale, FL, or Bluffton, SC or Hilton Head Island, SC
Go for the sunshine without a doubt! For that kind of money you could goto a lovely 5* resort in Egypt. A quick google found this site listing places to go:

You could go to Lake Louise or Whistler and stay in the most quaint old fashioned hotel for that and go skiing on some of the finest runs for that money!
Hunt around but dont waste it on the UK’s over inflated prices.
