What should I go and see in Palma?
Should you find you are on holiday and wondering what there is to do instead of laying on a glorious sandy beach topping up your tan or propping up a poolside bar, get your notepad out now, for there are a hundred great places to see. One or two of the best places include the Royal Palace of Almudaina, the Bellver Castle and the gothic cathedral.
You could hire a car at Palma Airport and see a whole lot more of the island, but for now, let’s concentrate on what lies on your doorstep in Palma. The Castle of Bellver, for a kick off, dates back to the fourteenth century and the Royal Palace of Almudaina to the Middle Ages. The ultimate tourist attraction in atmospheric Palma however is the magnificent Cathedral which dates back all the way to the third century. All roads and alleyways seem to lead to the cathedral so there is no excuse!
To top it, how about enjoying a visit to the Arab Baths? Their origins come from the tenth century and are well worth the time spent trying to spot them in the cathedral’s outlying streets! Largely made from marble, with the exception of sitting in an icebox, they are the coolest place in town.
