Fancy a trip back in time? Just come to Bruges!

If you are hooked on history, I think the Belgian city of Bruges is the place for you! Offering a generous platter of medieval architecture, old squares and a certain darkened sombre atmosphere, you will not believe your eyes that a city can be so staggeringly beautiful yet painfully haunted by memories of a greater time followed by great periods of hunger and melancholy. Bruges wears its difficult memories for all to see whether in the thirteen century Belfort or along its atmospheric canal paths. If you are staying in one of the atmospheric Bruges hotels, your visit to the city may coincide with a bell ringing service by the 47 bells of the Bellfort – an experience never to be forgotten! It is said that nowhere is there a city so unchanged for that many years, so it is up to us to visit Bruges and feed it our tourist coin to keep the preservation going for many years to come.

Bruges is a fairly small city within a fairly small country, for sight seeing around the city you will be able to leave the hire car back at the hotel and make more use of it when you tour the city’s borders.
