We are going to New York in Feb for a long weekend. Can anybody give some advice as what trips we can do with a twelve year old girl who is absolutely mad on friends? Also any ideas as what to do in the evenings? Thanks.

Catch a Broadway show like The Lion King or Grease. See what’s happening at Madison Square Garden. You can probably catch a good concert or a game there. Times Square is lots of fun… There’s the Virgin Megastore, which is a MUST for all music lovers, Ripley’s Believe it or Not museum, the Hard Rock Cafe, Planet Hollywood, an M M’s store and more! Your daughter would also appreciate a trip to Macy’s, the world’s largest department store. (9 floors, plus the basement!)
1. Mars2112 – a brill restaurant ;you go in one side of a space ship simulator and come out the other side in ‘Mars’. The waiter/waitresses are dressed like aliens. Its out of this world!(sorry, just had to say that.)
2. The Jekyll and Hyde restaurant – its a scary but cool restaurant with dinner shows: expect lots of skeletons and automated executions, sounds weird but believe me IT IS WORTH IT, you will enjoy it!!! If you don’t go you will regret it!
3. The Beast- A large speed boat that plays rock music very loudly as you drive around. The drivers have weird names like Mad Dog. There are two boats and they race each other while the drivers show off and shout across to each other. Is really good but if you are going on it bring something water proof to sit on because the seats absorb water from the rain.
Hope this helps and I’m really sorry but I cannot remember for the life of me where any of these places are but if you ask around like we did you’ll soon find them.
While you’re in N.Y.C. pick up a handy map/ guide that lists all the restaurants and sites in it. That way you can read the address and name and tell it to your taxi driver.
Friends isn’t filmed in new york so don’t expect to bump into any of them .However the fountain used in the title is in Central park .We took a rickshaw ride through the park last Feb and all the locations were pointed out as we went around .while your in that area you could go to the natural history museum the entry cost is voluntary ,They give you a suggested price and you offer them what you want to pay $1 each is perfectly OK
.Times square is fabulous in the evening .The Brooklyn dinner on west 43rd street near times square is really good apparently they are known for there breakfasts but I always go to where the locals eat .
