How is crowded at Gatwick Airport North at 3pm – 7pm?

A noob who never hears asked:

Sunday, 12th July. Arrive at 3pm and stay till 7pm. For long haul flight.

For added bonus, I will be leaving at 7:10pm so, can you find airline which leaves at 7:10pm at North.

Long haul airlines, short haul airlines? The main users of North are Easyjet, Thompson and BA. A few others like Delta and Emirates fly from North. It isn’t as crowed in the evening, but will still be fairly crowded at 7. It is more empty at 8-9 when only smaller aircraft can take-off or land.

I fly regularly from North terminal with either Easyjet or Thomson, and the whole process outbound is so much better than the South terminal. It is much quieter and I never seem to encounter check-in queues. A couple of weeks ago I flew from South terminal with Monarch and couldn’t believe I was in the same airport, it was so chaotic. So you should find it OK.
Now, establishing where you are flying to is not so simple. There appears to be very little long haul activity on a Sunday, between the hours of 7pm and 8pm, indeed there are no flights scheduled to take off from either terminal at 7.10pm. I must assume therefore that you are taking a flight to a destination which hasn’t yet started it’s summer schedule.
