What to wear when travelling?

,._*Charli*_., asked:

Me and two friends (all girls) are travelling in southeast asia in the summer – any tips on what to wear?

A sarong is the best thing you can take in your back pack, that way you have something for the beach and something to use as a head scalf if appropriate!

Other than that, keep clothes at light at possible, light weight trousers (linen is good), lots of vest tops, a lightweight waterproof jacket and fleece.

remember the saying though, always take twice the money and half the clothes – you can always buy anything out there mega cheap that you can’t carry and even throw/give it away at the end!

    Hope this helps :)

i was in Malaysia last year i will put it like this. it was so hot when i got out of the shower that by the time i finished brushing my teeth i felt like i needed another shower. and the hair gel i use in America did not even work it just melted i had to buy hair paste so it would not melt. it is so freaking hot everyday. dress comfortable.

yeah, the best things to wear are linen pants, sarongs, vests or tshirts, anything cotton as it will be real hot. Its really important to either take a pashmina/sarong to cover your shoulders/arms in some parts of asia as its seen to be rude, you can get a lot of hassle over it. All stuff like that is going to be really easy to take in ur backpack – and unless your already aware of this, roll your clothes instead of folding them, you can fit crap loads more in this way. When i went backpacking I fit in about 40% more stuff rolling clothes up into tight little bundles, than folding things.
    Hope this helps! x
