Has anyone flown Delta airlines, Edinburgh to New York?
floppsy asked:
I am a bit worried that the plane will be a bit cramped for a long haul flight, also what is the in flight entertainment and the drinks and food service like? cheers in advance for any genuine replies.

Delta keep feeding you and the food is way better than it used to be. Plus they’ll give you one free drink and you can pay for more. They’ll give you a pack with earplugs, toothbrush and paste, earphones, and a sleeping mask.
They should show 2 or 3 movies during the flight.
All passengers get a pillow and a blanket, these will be on your seat when you board.
i have done manchester to new york with delta and it was ok but not great.
it was good value though.
i was dissapointed as we didnt have out own tvs in the backof the seat in front of us which i am used to and it was more cramped than other long flights i have done but not that cramped that it was uncomfortable. you can pre-book where you sit when you book online with delta.com or if you do it over the phone they will ask you where you want to sit but you can change it online once you have a reference number. i found this handy as i like to be near the front as i **** it when people recline the seat right back.
the food was just like any other plane food – bloody awful but no worse than any other airline.
the selesction of drinks was good and i think they were all free (they normall are on scheduled flights).
american airlines are good but more expensive.
hope you have a great time. new york is amazing! check out the natural history museum – it is brilliant.
Delta serve EDI in summers only currently. Continental serve EDI year-round. Both airlines have 757s scheduled on this route. Those are single-aisle, narrowbody medium range aircraft, normally with 3 seats – aisle – 3 seats. Delta are o.k. I flew them last year between Copenhagen and Atlanta, but it was a slightly larger 767 on those flights. This might be helpful:

Not me, but two of my friends have used Delta long-haul and have nothing but praise for them.
