Purchase a separate seat for baby and bring her carseat. SO much easier if you can put her down. Make sure you have powdered formula and let the airline know you’ll need water or need to bring some. Bring some toys. If anyone offers to hold her, take them up on the offer–you can’t kidnap a baby on a plane! Where would they take her?! You’ll get a much needed break, even if only for a few minutes.
wow where are yall going?! i fly to ukraine sometimes but it’s only like a 10 hour flight and those 10 hours just about kill me! i feel for you! anyways,
definately extra passies (if your child uses them)
extra clothes
blanket
toys
something very familiar like a stuff animal she loves
diapers (tons)
wipes
maybe some plastic bags to put stinky diapers in when you throw them away on the plane so it doesnt stay stinky in the bathroom
you wont need THAT much since she’s only 5 months old. if she were about 5months older id list snacks and stuff like that but your 5 month old really only needs diaper changes, naps, and milk.
You need to use every chance to walk around with the baby and play whith her. If you are going to Asia you will be fine. Asian airlines employees are sooo nice!! If you are using Delta…cancel it!
I flew to Europe with my 6 month old and it was fine. Bring blankets, change of clothes (for you and baby!), bottle feed during take off and landing. And one big one I learned, bring some gas drops. Sometimes the pressure changes will bother baby’s tummy, so gas drops will help get rid of that extra pressure build up!!
Also, if you can get a bulkhead seat the airplanes often have basinettes that attach to the bulkhead (check with the airline!)so you can put baby down when she’s sleeping. Gives you a break, but you don’t need to spend the money on a second seat!

also make sure she is drinking her bottle during landing and take off so her little ears wont pop!!
You know your baby. Be prepared for everything! You can never pack too much for a long trip.
