Maximum Stay in the Philippines by a British Citizen?
Sofia Alexandra Louissa asked:
Well, I’m planning to go on a holiday in the Philippines. But I don’t know how long I can stay. I’d like to stay for probably 2 months. And any recommended place in the Philippines that I could go to? Preferably a tourist spot. I don’t want to end up in a remote island by my self. XD

Boracay is a fun place. I missed that place. it’s really enjoyable there. have a happy trip!
You may apply be eligible to apply for a 59 day visa or a one-year, multiple entry visa, depending on your specific needs and what country your passport is issued from. You can request and fill out an application (often downloadable from the Philippine Embassy website) and send the fee, the application and your passport, to the Philippine Embassy closest to you. After they have processed your request (if approved), they will put the visa in your passport and send the passport back to you. You will be given 3 months to enter the country before the visa expires. Upon entry into the Philippines, your 59 days will begin. Make sure that you file for an extension at least two weeks prior to your visa expiring.
Boracay and Palawan is the tourists spots here in the Philippines, but unfortunatelty, During Tourist times, lodging and expenses all goes up. I recommend you to visit different places in Visayas where other spots are undiscovered, where there are least people and much more lodges to sleep in.
You can also go to different places here to see their Cultures but try not to be too expecting. Go in Batanes, Baguio, Banaue Rice Terraces, Underground River, Mayon Volcano, Davao.. other places I learned in my history when I was in elementary hehe
goodluck for your trip.
Hold your pouches tight!
The maximum stay for all aliens whether restricted or not is 16 months (or 24 months if approval from the commissioner has been granted) under the new immigration regulations recently introduced to boost tourism in the country.
For more info you may visit: which is the official site of the Bureau of Immigration.
You can enter the country for a maximum of 21 days on visa free or visa on arrival. However, you can arrange with the Philippine consular office in your country to arrange for your travel needs. There’s a lot of things and sights for you to discover Philippines. If you want mountain climbing you can go to sagada in mountain province that is near to banawe rice terraces. Beaches is what we are proud of, Batangas, Palawan, Bohol, Boracay, Cebu, Camiguin, Camarinis sur to name a few. Just check the site below for details.
You can extend your tourist visa in 59 day increments for up to 16 months. You get 21 days free upon arrival.
There are many nice tourist spots. Just look here :
A Brit (or most nationalities) can enter the Philippines WITHOUT a visa for 21 days. You can get a 59 day Visa from your local Philippine Embassy (London) or wait until you arrive at Manila (NAIA) airport get a 38 day extension then. More details here:
As for where to stay, well you need to decide where what you are personally looking for. Are you a ‘Ibiza’ or a ‘Rome’? In other words are you looking to party, if so then Boracay or Puerto Galera. Are you looking to be more ‘Tourist’ then Palawan or Cebu (Mactan). Have a look around here for more ideas info from Brits who live there.

Uzi.
You can stay for 21 days for free then another 59 days for about $100 .
I do NOT recommend sending your passport anywhere KEEP it in your possession at all times! I had problems at the Manila airport on my first trip here went to the tourist counter where I was told by the Philippine Tourist agent We are not interested in your problems only your money. So I say do NOT part with your passport.
Other than that I say go to a smaller city or town to learn what the real Philippines are about.
There is a lot of conflicting information here.I have lived here for 4 years so would like to clarify the situation. You do not need a visa on arrival here. You will be given a 21 day automatic stay.If you wish to extend this you must apply at the nearest bureau of immigration(although any reputable travel agent here will do this for you.You will be given an additional 29 days. After that the process is repeated but all future visas are for a period of 59 days. After 16 months here(not 18 as stated) you must exit the country and reenter and the whole process starts again. You can leave and return the same day if you can find a way to do it.One thing you do need on every entry to the country is an onward ticket somewhere, even if you never use it.A single ticket to Hong Kong(Cathay Pacific) or Singapore(Singapore Airlines) is popular and refundable if not used.I suggest you base yourself in Cebu as there are many good beaches here and flights(Cebu Pacific Airways) and ferries are available to destinations all over the Philippines.Bohol is a 100 minute fast ferry ride away and worth a visit.Camiguin can be reached with a 40 minute flight.A word of warning..All travel on Mindanao is advised against at the moment so don’t go to Davao as suggested or other destinations on Mindanao,
