I’d like to see a game of Liverpool in Anfield Road?

Loverfun asked:

I’m French, and one of my dream is to see Liverpool in Anfield. If I use a low cost flight from France, the trip to Liverpool costs only 20€.

Liverpool is my favorite team, but I don’t know how to buy 2 tickets (for my brother and I): I went on their Internet website, but it’s really complicated, it seems that they ask a fancard to buy tickets online.

So I’m asking for those who where already in Anfield: how can I do? Is it possible to buy a ticket when I’ll arrive at the stadium? I’d like to see the first season game (Liverpool – West Ham), so do you have any tips for me?

Thanks a lot for any information.

There is no chance of getting in at the turnstiles these days – even supporters who live down the road find it hard to get tickets – you would be best to keep your eye on their website and keep ringing their credit card hotline and you might get a ticket if they go on general release – you have got no chance for the first game of the season – sorry!!

You are right it is very hard to get tickets to a home game at Anfield. One way is as you say to get a Fan Card but even this will not guarantee you getting a ticket.
My suggestion would be to send in a postal application look on the web site for the details of the dates and choose your game carefully. If you try for any of the major games such as Man Utd or Chelsea than the demand for those games will be very high and you chances of getting a ticket very limited.
Instead either pick one of the smaller games like Derby,Reading etc. If you really want to be sure of just seeing a game then look to a mid week match in the Carling Cup or early rounds of the F A cup if Liverpool are playing lower division sides , most of these do not sell out so you will have a much better chance.
Once you have you seats confirmed then you can book the rest. But do be aware that most of the Hotels in and around Liverpool do get full on home match days as so may visiting fans come to Liverpool.
