My friends and I are wanting to go to the Bahamas next summer. Which Island is the best for a few college students to visit. We want to go shopping, lay on the beach, and experience the culture. Any travel tips you have would be greatly apperciated. Thanks!

I would go to Freeport, Grand Bahama Island. Check out the all-inclusive resorts. This way you know you will eat decent and not pay for expensive drinks.
Also you will know how much you need upfront for food and lodging.

I’d opt for breezes all inclusive in Nassau.. or the sunrise beach Club on Paradise Island (not AI)
You can shop downtown on bay Street or at the Marina Village. You’ll find everything from cheap souveniers to high end shopping.
And check into things to do to see the cultural aspect of the island.

Junkanoo Rush at Marina Village
Regatta or other local Festivals at Montegue beach
Changing of the Guard
Historical Tour of nassau
Visiting the Forts (Charlotte, Fincastle and Montegue)
Climb the queens Staircase
Visit the Slave Museum
Check out the botanical Gardens
Check out some local music around town. (Sheraton has a band in the lobby, Luciano has a band on weekend nites, Bimini Road has a local band most evenings at the marina Village, and the Fish Fry has several bands on weekend nites)
Take a day trip to Harbour Island to see more of the real bahamas -
