Which is cheapest for tobacco? France or Belgium?

J J asked:

?
I am planning a trip to stock up on GV baccy and some booze, which is cheaper, France or Belgium? When you get there where do you go to get it all. Also some info on the maximum you can bring back legally would be helpful.

also which is the cheapest way of getting there with a car and from where? I am based in s.e england but don’t mind driving anywhere in the country to get there. (dont pay for my own fuel!!!)

IF YOUR THAT TIGHT TO PAY A GOOD PRICE FOR A PACK OF CIGGIES, THEN MY ADVICE TO YOU IS TO GIVE UP SMOKING.THEN YOU WONT NEED TO WORRY ABOUT HOW MANY PENNIES YOU’VE GOT IN YOUR VERY DEEP POCKETS.

A pack of marlboro costs 4,30 euros in Belgium. I know most Brits cross the Channel and purchase the goods in Zeebrugge or Oostende.

Cheapest is Belgium. Cigarettes are no great saving over UK price. Tobacco is a HUGE £7 per packet saving (golden virginia.)

Adinkerke is just 40 miles up the motorway from Calais and you can bring back 60 packets/10 sleeves tobacco PER PERSON to the UK and 16 sleeves cigarettes. You won’t have much change out of £30 per sleeve of ciggies. Not a big saving, considering the price of the trip!

Spain is cheaper. Poland cheaper still, though even though Poland is now in the EU you cannot bring back so many packets.
