You only need to go to Snowdonia in North Wales to see snow. It will only take one hour to get there from Liverpool.

I am from Southport and I can see them on the beach (at Formby).

Hi Im from Ireland and in Jan you might get alittle snow but nothing to show anyone,it rarely stays on the ground!!!
Id say your best bet is Scotland or Somewhere like Newcastle, It seems like its always snowing there that time of year!!

Well Ireland doesn't get much snow anytime of the year. Mountain tops are your best bet! I'd say west and north west would probably be most likely (Donegal, Sligo, Mayo, Galway, Clare, Roscommon, Leitrim). But it could appear anywhere really, keep a look out for weather reports! I couldn't tell you much about the UK, I live in Ireland.

Go North and go high.
There will be snow in places like the Cairngorms and Mum-in-law might enjoy going up the mountain in the ski lift. You could make a weekend break and take her to Pitlochry which isn't too far away and is a nice little Town.
