Which do you think would be the better road trip (on a motorbike) from the U.K?

First Ascent asked:

Option 1 – Sail from Portsmouth to Bilbao in Northern Spain, ride up through the Pyrenees, the west side of France, around Brittany/ Normandy and sail back Calais to Dover.
Otion 2 – Sail Harwich to Esberg in Denmark, ride throught Denmark, Germany, Holland, Belgium and then again Calais to Dover.

Any experiences/ ideas welcomed.

Oh, will be going May time and have 2 weeks to spare. Will be riding a GSXR 750

Mayflower… I think Option 1 for May, but the countryside , which I have no idea about in those latitudes, makes me say it – for what I think could be better is weather and climate.

both would be a good option and the country side on both trips stunning
the sail to bilbao is a good trip, its nicknamed the love boat, as you get hen parties and stag parties sailing over just for the trip
that would sway me if i were single

I have done similar(ish) trips by car and for me personally, this is a no brainer… France Spain every time.
    France/Spain trip good for:
    Beaches
    Scenery
    Sunshine
    Nightlife
    Food

    Continental Europe trip good for:
    Beer
    Sightseeing
    More beer!

If you are like me and want to try as many Dutch/German/Belgian/Danish beers as possible then this does not fit so well with being in charge of a motor vehicle… much better to go by train!

For my panormaic photos from many of these places and more, please goto:

    Hope that helps.
