It's rude and disrespectful to your teachers. 2. everything you need can be found in a phrasebook. 3. if you just realised that being without it could mean you get much more out of the trip, and may even retain some information. 4. it's only 3 DAYS, for the love of the wee man! 5. What's sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander - if everyone else isn't allowed, you won't be either. 6. Life has it's own soundtrack, you don;t have to bring one along with you. What you could probably say to them is, well, that you only want it for the translator app, music, videos, and other apps. Otherwise, they always make electronic translators that are not too expensive. And for music maybe you could buy a cheap mp3 player?
